This was our first year in this parade, and after some pre-staging problems earlier in the morning, we got in the right place with the military groups and had the most wonderful time once it got started. Everyone seemed to love our "Flag Float", we brought all our trimmings! Equipped with welcome home patriotic music, beautiful brochures, and flags for the children, the folks of Danville gave us endless applause through the parade. I think the judges liked what they saw and heard. This morning someone from the Kiwanis Club called to say we won "top four" out of 44 entries, that met the criteria of the theme, "Honoring are Heroes". There were over 120 exhibits, total, WOW!!
We want thank all the 30 walker volunteers, the Kiwanis Club, the City of Danville, all the Danville residents that cheered us on! We definitely will be back next year!
